Daddy's Digs

Since we have been living without Daddy during the week for about a month now, it was time to go visit him. We had a great time exploring a new place. Andrew is not used to sleeping in the Pack n Play, (and is not a good sleeper in any conditions) so sleeping was rough. But otherwise it felt just like home.

Kitt Peak

We went with Grandma and Grandpa to Kitt Peak today. It was really windy and cold, but it was so much fun. The telescopes are huge! It was neat to see the giant telescopes up close. Below is the bottom half of the 2.1 Meter telescope.
Behind us is the telescope they use to watch the sun. When we went inside, you could see the telescope on a track that went up and down depending on the position of the sun. Most of the telescope is underground.

Sonora Desert Museum

We went with Grandma and Grandpa to the Sonora Desert Museum. We had a great time. If you have not been, it is worth the trip.

Andrew was a really good boy to wear his hat. He hasn't had much practice in wearing it before. Most of the time Andrew was a good boy to ride in the stroller, but the explorer in him eventually needed to be released. It's a good thing he had his overalls with a little padding in the knees. Those bricks are hard.
But eventually, all the exploring and watching snakes, road runners, fox, bobcats, wolves, deer, lizards and people gets to be too much for a little guy.

Playing with Grandpa

Grandpa and Grandma Johnson arrived today. Andrew loved crawling all over Grandpa and showing off his dump truck.

Messy

Can you say messy? Andrew had 4 top teeth come in this week, and since then insists on feeding himself. He will not eat anything I try to give him on a spoon. This makes for a huge mess. This week he has really started add to his daily menu. He will eat little bits of chicken and cheese. He also likes squishing bananas with his fingers. His all time favorite food is chex cereal.

10 Months

Happy 10 Months Andrew. Why do they have to grow so fast? Andrew spends more time upright than on the floor these days. He can pull himself up on anything. Since being in Idaho, something has really clicked with his brain and he can suddenly do things he hasn't done before. This morning he climbed up to the platform of the slide...All by himself. He is also starting to show frustration when things aren't going the way he would like. He was trying to open a cupboard door to play with the pots and pans, but couldn't quite get his fingers in the right spot to crack the door open. Now, if those top teeth would come in, we would all be happier.

Idaho

Mommy and I made a quick trip to Idaho for Grandpa's birthday and retirement party. I had a great time getting into Grandma's cupboards and playing with Mandi the Dog. Grandma also had this car that I loved.
Mommy and Grandma thought it would be fun to take me on my first sled ride. I wasn't very impressed. I am not used to the ground being white and cold. I like rocks. I am not used to wearing so many layers and a hat on my head.

I loved seeing my Idaho family, but I can do without the snow.

Climbing In

Andrew is really gaining control of his body. He has learned how to climb in and out of the oven drawer this week. The second picture is really funny. He is watching his sister. He does not let her out of his sight very often.

Good Nap

Good naps result in happy babies. Andrew routinely goes down for a morning nap at 8:45 and sleeps for an hour. So many things get done while he is sleeping....dishes, laundry, shower for Mommy, scripture reading. It is wonderful.
