Sitting

Andrew is sitting on his own. it only lasts 10 seconds, but he can do it.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. We started by having Grandma Olsen and Aunt Tami for breakfast. Then we went to Quartzsite to see Great Grandma Rossmiller. I loved playing with Mommy's cousin Chris. He would make me giggle. My favorite part of Christmas was playing with the ribbons on the packages.

Dressed and Ready

Andrew is dressed and ready for the Christmas party. Isn't he handsome. Everyone asks about his hair. It naturally stands straight up in the back, and yes, it has a red tint to it.

7 Months

Can you believe Andrew is 7 months old? He is really close to sitting on his own and has started to army crawl. He loves his sister, especially when she is close enough to touch, and gets really mad when she takes something away from him.
Must get Camera!

Kitchen Helper

Andrew is my kitchen helper. He insists on being in the kitchen while I am fixing dinner. I love having the company.

Toys for Boys

We don't have very many toys for boys. I've discovered Andrew really likes wheels. He is fascinated with the wheels on this truck and the tricycle in the background....He must be a boy!

Bibbies

Grandpa Johnson, I am ready to work. I have my bibbies on.

Hey Batter Batter

My Aunt Lou sent this cute baseball outfit to Andrew over the summer. He fits into it perfect now.

Thanksgiving

Andrew thought the best part of Thanksgiving day was playing under Grandma Olsen's coffee table. Every time I looked over at him he was under there playing with a toy.

Must Get Camera

Our camera flashes a red light before it takes a picture. It grabs Andrew's attention every time. Recently he has been trying to grab for the camera. He sure is concentrating hard.

Backed in a Corner

Andrew rolls everywhere now. He will pick an object he wants and roll and reach until he grabs it. Tonight he rolled himself in the corner. It seemed like a good idea at first, until he realized he had backed himself in a corner.

6 Months

My cute boy is 6 months old today. He is a strong and healthy lad. He has developed so much in the last month. He has two bottom teeth now, which show up pretty good in the picture. He eats like a hungry boy, and is wearing 12 month clothes. I am sure he is over 18 lbs. He can get to pretty much anything he wants. I am sure he will be army crawling in the next couple of weeks. We love you Andrew.

Sleeping

I will say it again, Andrew is a big boy. He hasn't been sleeping as well as I would hope. He is getting up twice during the night. He thinks 1 am is the best time to eat. Hopefully some day I will look back and miss those night feedings and snuggle time.

Venturing Out

Andrew is really getting around. This morning he managed to get himself all the way behind the chair. His sister is teaching him how fun the blinds can be. He has also found the contrast between carpet and tile interesting.
We love Andrew's hair. It has a hint of red, and sticks straight up.

Two Teeth

We had a halloween surprise this afternoon when Andrew took my finger and chomped down on it. Ouch. He had is two bottom teeth come in today. Now that's something to smile about!

I Want Candy

Happy Halloween! Andrew had a fun time with Grandma Olsen. He did a great job of showing her how he can roll and grab things. He also gave quite a few smiles to the neighbors who loved him in his bat hat.

It was 95 degrees today, which is way too hot for a big costume, so we opted for a "I want Candy" onsie. Here he is acting like the candy corn.

Sweet Potatoes and Peas

Andrew hasn't really liked any of the jarred baby food I have been giving him. This morning I pureed some sweet potatoes and peas to see if he would eat it any better. I wouldn't say he loved it, but he didn't hate it. I think the texture is more like his oatmeal.

Big Enough

Mommy decided I was big enough to try out the high chair. I loved sitting up and being a big boy. My sister, on the other hand, was not very happy seeing me sit in "her" chair.

Together

Andrew and Elizabeth love being together. When Elizabeth is napping or doing something with Daddy, Andrew doesn't quite know what do to. His sister is a big part of his life. This morning she was trying to share this book with him. Unfortunately it was a little big for her to handle and she knocked him in the head. He is tough though, and didn't seem to mind.

My Handsome Boy

Andrew has really become a cute little boy. He is constantly watching to see if people are looking at him, and if they are, he really hams it up.

I Didn't Do It

You wouldn't think this innocent face could figure out how to reach his oatmeal bowl and grab it, but he did. This kid has an amazing determination, and an even better reach. He has really figured out how to use his hands to his advantage. I would dare say he is quicker than his sister. Oh Boy!

On the Roll

Andrew has figured out how to roll across the floor. His muscles are gaining more and more strength and control every day. This morning I was watching him try to use his legs to propel him forward. Crawling is in the near future for this big boy.

It's Cold Outside

It was in the 40's this morning when we went for our walk at 7:30. It was cold compared to the 80's we are used to in the mornings. This is the first time Andrew has needed an extra blanket or a jacket since we left Idaho in July.

He did it, He did it!!!!!!!!

ANDREW SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of him. It was a long time coming. He had been getting up every two hours to eat, but Mommy and Daddy decided he was big enough and let him cry. He cried for 45 minutes Friday night and finally found his fingers to suck on and put himself back to sleep. Last night he didn't make a sound all night.

Fuzzy Flannel Footie PJ's

It was chilly when we got home tonight so Andrew and Elizabeth were put in their comfy flannel footie pj's for the first time this fall.

5 Months

Andrew is 5 months old today. He weighs over 18 lbs and is healthy and happy. He has been eating oatmeal for about a month now and loves it. We have also tried carrots and sweet potatoes, but he doesn't really care for either one. He has gotten very good at rolling over. He is quick at getting from his back to his tummy, and will occasionally go from his tummy to his back. He has really started giggling and interacting with people. He also loves having his sister close and doesn't mind a little mauling every now and then. The biggest surprise for me is dressing him in 12 month clothes and having them fit. I wish he would stop growing for a little while and stay small and cuddly.

Bath Time

Andrew tolerates bath time pretty well. He doesn't love it and he doesn't hate it. He will stiffen up his legs when you put him in the tub, so it is hard to get him settled. Once he is finally in he likes the water.

My Sister's Shoes

Elizabeth was insistent that I put her shoes on Andrew's feet. She tried to do it herself but couldn't quite do it. She thought he was pretty silly wearing her shoes. Andrew thought it was pretty great too.

Back to Front

Andrew is getting really good at rolling from his back to his tummy. He gets pretty upset after he realizes he is on his tummy and begs to be rolled to his back.

Eating Cereal

Andrew loves eating his cereal. He gets so happy he can barely sit still for the spoon. Each time he gets some oatmeal his fingers go in his mouth. It is a pretty messy process.

My Crib

Andrew has finally graduated into the crib. He was very ready for the change. The bassinet was getting very small for his big frame.

Monday, September 22, 2008

Tummy Time

Andrew has learned to roll from his tummy to his back. He doesn't like spending too much time on his tummy. I think it is harder for him to see Elizabeth.

Ahhh, that's better.

Drooling Baby

My boy continues to be happy. He is drooling on everything though. After an hour of being dressed he manages to soak his outfit for the day.

Playing Together

My cousin has a fun picture of her two older children playing with Lego's. It gives me hope as a mother that I my kids will be able to play and entertain themselves as well. I am sure the time will come soon enough. Today they were both being really good playing with the same toy.

Me and Mom

We had a fun time together this afternoon while Elizabeth was sleeping. Andrew always enjoys time alone with Mommy. We sing and play. Andrew will sing with me if I put our cheeks together. And his drool kisses are the best.

4 Months

Andrew is 4 months old today. He is growing so fast. He already wears 6/9 month clothes because he has such a long body. He has also started eating Oatmeal. Mommy's milk wasn't keeping him satisfied long enough, and the oatmeal stays with him longer. He loves it. He also loves his sister. He smiles big whenever she comes near him, and loves to receive her kisses. We love you Andrew.

Jump

We set up the jumperoo for Andrew this afternoon. He loves it. He hasn't quite figured out how to jump yet, but being able to stand up and see around the room is great. He also loves it when Elizabeth plays with the toys. Andrew is always excited when she is close by.

Andrew's Blessing

We blessed Andrew in Church today. We were so happy to have so many friends and family share the day with us. Andrew did a great job during his blessing, and then enjoyed sleeping with Grandma Olsen throughout the rest of the meeting. He also loved having everyone to play with here at home afterwards.

Thank you to all who came to support him on this special day. We loved seeing everyone.
