Planting Seeds

Elizabeth told me yesterday that we needed to plant some seeds in dirt. We were looking for a good excuse to go to town, so after nap time we went to the store and bought seeds. We planted yellow squash, lettuce, cilantro, and basil. I wanted plants that the kids could put in their mouths if picked early. Elizabeth did a great job of putting two or three seeds in each one. I told her that we need to wait for them to grow. Her response was cheering, "grow, grow, grow."

Grandma put her seeds in soil today also. She put in peppers, they are supposed to be like Elizabeth's cake, all colors! Tomatoes, lettuce, strawflowers, and swiss chard. Swiss chard might be something Andrew would like. He can pick the leaves and eat them.
